If you have lost all or most of your teeth, you most likely struggle with regular daily activities such as chewing and speaking. Dentures are dental prosthetics that replace an entire row of teeth. They offer patients a solution to tooth loss that can significantly improve quality of life. At Complete Health Dental Care in Clinton Township, MI, we offer both traditional and implant-supported dentures to complete your smile. Our skilled and caring doctor, Carl Piontkowski, can help you determine which option best suits your needs when replacing one or both dental arches.
What Are Dentures?
Dentures are prosthetics specifically designed to replace an entire row of teeth. We offer patients two solutions for addressing widespread tooth loss:
Traditional dentures comprise a gum-colored acrylic base with natural-looking false teeth. They are held in place by natural suction and mild dental adhesive. Traditional dentures are the most affordable option for full-arch replacement.
Instead of relying on dental adhesive, implant-supported dentures are anchored into the jaw bone by dental implants. Despite the substantial investment, many patients choose to attach their dentures to dental implants for the oral health benefits and improved function.
While our doctors provide high-quality dentures, it is in the nature of the prosthetic to potentially shift when eating or speaking. Implant-supported dentures provide patients with more stability and peace of mind. When determining which type of denture is best for you, our doctors can help you evaluate your aesthetic and oral health goals as well as your budget.
We are committed to providing our patients with the highest-quality dental solutions.
Technologically Advanced Design
AvaDent® Digital Dentures allows us to provide qualifying patients with an improved dentures experience. This advanced computer-aided design process enhances the aesthetics and fit of our dentures to create the best possible prosthetic. In addition to the highly personalized results, designing your dentures using this advanced software also ensures the information is stored digitally making it easier to replace your dentures if needed.
The Dentures Process
For patients who have selected implant-supported dentures, you will need to undergo dental implant surgery before impressions are taken. Additionally, you will need to wait until the jaw bone has fully healed prior to receiving your denture which can take up to six months. Patients receiving a traditional denture should expect the fabrication process to take about three to five weeks. You will then return to our office to receive your final restoration.
Financing Your Treatment
Replacing missing teeth is a priority for most patients, however, some may postpone treatment due to budgetary concerns. We accept a wide variety of insurance providers which will typically cover a portion of your treatment. For out-of-pocket expenses, we also accept third-party financing through LendingClub®.
